Me: Excuse me, sir? Could you take this and carry it 4000 miles over an ocean and deliver it directly to a person you've never met?
USPS: Certainly, sir, that'll be 84 cents.
Me: How much for you to do the robot?
USPS: That'll be five thousand dollars.
Post-WASTE or "Tired of Waiting For Silent Tristero's Empire"
Submitted by wadsbone on Tue, 05/16/2006 - 11:49. FutureworldConsidering that development on WASTE seems to have stopped, and that it doesn't have a decent OSX client, or even a decent Linux client, and also considering that currently only two and a half people are connected to it right now, maybe we could try something better supported that serves the same purpose.
I was looking at Hamachi last night, which should work with Windows, Linux, and OS X. It's a bit harder to set up on linux and OS X, but it's at least theoretically possible. From what I've read, it's like a VPN, but easier to set up, which is really what we're trying to get with WASTE anyway.

Post Mamma jokes for the aughts
Submitted by Tim on Wed, 03/15/2006 - 21:52. FutureworldIn the world of flying cars and complete energy independence in which we live today, insults like "yo' mama's so fat she needs a boomerang to put her belt on" just don't cut it anymore. I believe that for Jeaun.com to remain the cutting-edge cultural exchange that we have grown to love, we need to revise these classic less-than-subtle jibes with a more forward-looking body of mediocre 1-2-liners. "Why?" you may ask. I don't know, but I'm bored and I've already done a lot of typing before realizing this joke sucks, so I'm posting it anyway. Oh yeah, and you have to be frunk.
Here's a couple:
Chicago Rock City
Submitted by markrpaulson on Sun, 02/26/2006 - 01:47. FutureworldSo, I've always though it was a simple matter of time before Aden took the helm of a rock band and busted it out Craig Finn style. While at work this evening, I thought of the perfect band name. Ready?

WASTE donations?
Submitted by Graver on Tue, 10/04/2005 - 21:46. FutureworldHey everybody. This is for all those people using WASTE. The project leader is looking for donations to get a better build machine. I mean.. hell, he could be buying beer with it.. but there it is.
Also, he claims to have a Mac server version and be working on a client. He also looks to have created a linux version. haven't tested it yet.
Most of us don't have the money to do this, but I'm just throwing it out there.

Ade -- that free xbox ain't what you want, mang
Submitted by e lo on Wed, 06/01/2005 - 10:03. FutureworldAlthough free is the right price, you would probably have better luck buying a used one off eBay, because it would be an earlier version. The current version of the main PCB requires a lot more soldering to mod than the older versions did.
Just my $0.02.
