Bob Dobalina
Bob Dobalina
Submitted by wadsbone on Mon, 04/11/2005 - 12:02. What's That Jeaun? There's a song called Mistadobalina by Del Tha Funky Homosapien, that references someone named "Bob Dobalina". I tried to do a google search to find some information on the guy, but all I could find was this site which explained it as a reference to Bob Dobbs of The Church of the SubGenius. Naturally, that means that Del is either a discordian or an illuminati agent.
Has anyone else ever heard of this guy? I find the SubGenius story to be a little fishy.

Bob Dobalena
I think the song is a reference to the former Australian Prime Minister named Bob Hawke. I'm a little hazy on the event as it was in the 80's, but there was a press conference on the White House lawn with the then President Ronny Regan. Bob Hawke made a speech and then Regan followed with words to the contrary. Bob Hawke ad libed a reply that aligned himself with Regan which so appalled the Funky Homosapien that he immortalised the event.

Bob dobalina
Bob dobalina is a buddy of del's whos a fuckin idiot so there was a song made about it...

i love that song...
It's a tight song and that's all that matters to me.

It's from a Monkee's song
"Zilch" on "Headquarters". No idea where they got it.

Wow, good find!
Wow, good find! I need to find a copy of that song. Who would have though that Del would do a Monkees cover? I guess the funky monkees and the funkee homosapien are kindred spirits.

also
from wikipedia-
"Mistadobalina - built on a sample of Peter Tork saying "Mr. Dobalena, Mr. Bob Dobalena" in the Monkees song "Zilch", from the album Headquarters "

and the answer is....
The name Bob Dobalina was first used by the Monkees who first heard the name in an airport. Over the intercom, they an announcement that said "Final Boarding call for Mr. Dobalina, Mr. Bob Dobalina" they liked the way it sounded and kept saying it to eachother and eventually made a song out of it.

When I worked for Warner
When I worked for Warner Bros. Records in Burbank, California I was going with a young woman Jane D. ( D was the first letter of her maiden name ) who worked at ABC Studios in payroll as I remember. We would have lunch together at a resturant in Burbank and I remember her telling me she would hear this page over the pa system, "Bob Dobalina, paging Bob Dobolina". She was always amused when she would hear it. that was in the late 60s or early 70s.

hurrr
everyone in entertainment is in the illuminati.
lol
grow up fucking retard

BOB DOBALENA
Okay if I was the real Bob Dobalena I would want to get paid for being refferenced in all these songs.
He is also mentioned in a Kotton Mouth Kings song on the album Cloud Nine.
"Baby Suri or Angie Jolina can drink pipe cleaner from Mr Dobalena, Mr Dobalena, Mr Bob Dobalena"

Mr Dobalina explained
1. dobalina 65 up, 16 down
Slang term for corporate white persons. Created by Oakland, CA hip hop artist Del tha Funkee Homosapien. His song, Mr. Dobalina poked fun at workplace white persons. Now used as a discreet slang to alert others that white persons are nearby, or that a message is being filtered to meet the expectations of said white persons.
Sample At-work Email Conversation:
Dame: "Tom, I just got this new Hammer CD via the internets; can I email you a few of these tracks?"
Tom: "No, not right now, I'm working at a client's site, and there's a lot of Dobalinas here; they don't want us to use our CPU's for music, etc."
Dame: "OK, I'll send them to your personal email address later."

kottonmouth kings
It is also used in multiple kottonmouth kings songs.

Mistadobalina just makes fun
Mistadobalina just makes fun of white people, Mr. Bob Dobalina is a white guy. Watch the music video.

Lyrics
Bomb a fraudulent foe with the strength of Hurcules.
The way ya on my dick must really hurtcha-knees.
Nobody writes shit like that anymore. Awesome

It's 3 am. I'm sober. I may very well be insane.
I love that song, so much in fact, that i named my first born Bob D-to-the-obalina.
Needless to say, my wife is seeing someone else right now and has full custody of little B.D.T.T.O.
(sighs)

Robert Dovalina
It's actually about Robert Dovalina from San Antonio, TX. He's 75 years old and one of my customers and he just finished telling me the story. His employee called him Bob Dobalina due to her strong accent. The Monkees heard the name being called out and had him paged to hear it again. They needed one last short song to finish their album and somehow chose to make a song after his catchy name.

The Real Dobalina
"Dobalina" is slang for corporate white people trying to front a more urban appearance or posing as someone who is cool with the lower working class whilst clearly not comfortable with it.
"But it isn't happenin' ya fraudulent foes/ You used to front big time now I suppose/ That everything's cool since the style you've adopted/ You used to make fun of but now you wanna rock it"
"Dobalina" is almost synonymous to the "Romney", slang used for corporate white people trying to front a more blue-to-red-collar appearance or posing as someone who is cool with those who would own a non-luxury vehicle whilst clearly uncomfortable with it.
Plus, Bob Dobalina is crazy fun to say over and over again ;)

YEARS LATER ALL IS KNOWN
bob dobalina refrences the few men in power "NWO" and is a "diss" song to them Bob Dobbs = Bob dobolina the sample has nothing to do with it it just happens to sound similar to Bob Dobbs

You are all so wrong!
Bob Dobalina was an IBM guy who got lost at the heathrow airport. His fellow coorporate collegues from the US, was panicing and awarded a finders fee through the speaker system. He became a joke in britains newspapers about american coorporate guy's that are so stuid that they like kids, get lost on airports so that their bosses have to call for them as missing. After this it became a sport through out in Europe to report Mr Bob Dobalina as missing.
The Monkeys was the first to put in a song.

Heard Peter Tork explain it this morning...
He was on WFAN radio in NY and said that one of their recording engineers heard the guy paged in an airport
"Mr Dobalina, Mr Bob Dobalina..."
And was just taken by the sing-song aspect of it.
Who knew!

Quit arguing!
It's from The Monkees' song "Zilch" on their album "Headquarters", released in 1967. You can find the album on iTunes if you don't have it on a record.

if you watch the movie
if you watch the movie honeymoon in vegas there is a scene in an airport where you can here a voice in the background over a p.a. paging a "mr. dobalina, mr. bob dobalina"

Dobalina
Dobalina is a slang term for a Caucasian corporate (e.g. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs etc)

I, for one, would like to
I, for one, would like to know what a "shit nigger lover" is, and how you go about giving one. Can they be gift-wrapped? Are they appropriate gifts for a bar mitzvah? What about a bat mitzvah? And, lastly, can they be added to wedding registries?
Where's Miss Manners when you need her?

It's a song by the Monkees. He just covered it.
Dumb ass.
The name Bob Dobalina was heard on an intercom system and thought to be funny by either the Monkees or a writer for the Monkees so they made a really odd song with the name.
